we are GROWING OUR FAMILY THROUGH ADOPTION

We have long felt we would be a family with four children, our final child coming to us through adoption.

About a year after the birth of our third child back in 2018, we began to explore the possibility of international adoption through a local agency.

Although we had so many unknowns, so many questions, we pursued the adoption process, in faith, sensing the peace of heaven was with us.

Since beginning on this path, we have felt the love, support, and encouragement of so many friends, family, and neighbors.

We are now beginning to share our story with our wider community of friends in hopes that others may join us in this single-minded pursuit. We know we can’t do it alone, and we would not want to!

Kelly planned to run the Superior 100 trail race in Fall 2020 in order to bring awareness of adoption and inspiration to our friends, family, and community prior to traveling to China. However, due to the pandemic the race was canceled and Kelly continued to train, run solo fun events and planned to run the race Fall 2021.

September of 2021 Kelly did run the Superior 100 Trail Ultra after having trained for over three years while we’ve simultaneously been on the journey to our sweet Judah. Both endurance journey’s have been filled with unexpected challenges and delays. Race day came and with Judah not yet home, Kelly decided to run with with a picture of him on her pack so that he was with her every mile. Not only did they finish the 103 mile race, Kelly ended up placing within the top 10 for women. This endurance adventure being one of many more to come as we continue going the distance on our journey to bring Judah home.

We currently reside in Northern Minnesota, thirty minutes west of Duluth. When we are not in the woods running, biking and exploring, we are working on our careers in roles we enjoy and staying active with our young family and community. The past five years, we have added “swea-quity” into our land in a nearby small town (pictured above), the town in which Kelly grew up in and recently were blessed to be able to build our first house for our growing family, a place we can all call home.
